Carla Moonen Biography
Carla Moonen is an experienced executive and chairperson of large organisations and private companies. She is a figurehead in the field of circular economy and finance. She is Senator since 2019. Carla is responsible for managing complex political and management issues such as drawing up administrative agreements and convenants with Ministers, other public bodies and businesses. She inspires employees and generates confidence through stability, expertise and maintaining relationships. Winner of the best employer award. She studied Land- and watermanagement and Economics. She is member of the Comenius Global Innovation Leadership Course. Carla is married and has three children.

President of the Royal Dutch Association of Engineering Companies
Currently, Carla Moonen is the President of the Royal Dutch Association of Engineering Companies in the Netherlands. In this role she represents Dutch Engineering Companies in national politics and the media. Moreover she is member of the Executive Committee of the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (known as member Dagelijks Bestuur VNO-NCW).
International Member on Green Transition and Sustainable Social Governance
She's an International Member for the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment en Development (CCICED) on the Special Policy Study on Green Transition and Sustainable Social Governance.
Member Supervisory Board Maastricht UMC+/azM and Member Supervisory Board MVO
Since 2013 Carla is a Member of the Supervisory Board Corporate Social Responsibility Netherlands. This is the largest sustainable network for companies in Europe.
Since 2020 Carla started also as a Member of the Maastricht Academic Medical Centre and the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (UMC+).
Chair Pension Fund
Carla Moonen has been the Chairperson of the Board of PFZW. PFZW is one of the largest pension funds in the Netherlands with 2,6 million participants and 190 billion euro's.
Chair Water Authority / Dijkgraaf
Until 2017, she was the Chair of the General Assembly and Executive Board of Water Authority Brabantse Delta.
Senior Advisor to the Cabinet of the Dutch Prime Minister
From 2008 to 2013 Carla Moonen was the Senior Advisor to the Cabinet of the Dutch Prime Minister. For the government she was responsible for worldwide climate negotiations. Furthermore she was the Dutch representative for the Global Green Growth Forum. Before that she was the deputy Director of the Government Finance Inspectorate. Responsible for the Inspection of the budget of 300 billion.
